One of the best things about Oriental Heritage House, on top of the high quality of the house itself, is the neighbourhood around. This charming area of Kuala Lumpur has great character, it is a very unique place with a strong cultural community. With very few chain restaurants or stores, tradition and heritage play a big role in the surroundings and create a sense of safety and genuine hospitality. It is also a lot cheaper than the city center, meaning you can enjoy a more traditional and raw experience of Malaysia for less. Oriental Heritage House is also only a ten minute walk away from the fabulous Performing Arts Center of Kuala Lumpur which regularly hosts arts festivals, often for free, that are well worth visiting. Here you can get a sense of the artistic qualities Malaysia has to offer. Within two or 3 minutes walk there are also a number of stunning Hindu temples, which can be visited for free, and are often the site of ceremonies and small festivals which are an amazing way to experience the local culture. A little further afield are a few Buddhist temples as well.
